Is ROL trying to fool us again?
It seems Raaje Online (ROL) is going to introduce a new internet package named to be ROL MEGA PIPE. According to their ads in Haveeru Online it seems that finally ROL feels that their customers are unsatisfied.
“We will let you enjoy broadband internet the way it meant to be”
So the question arises whether it’s the best time to introduce the new package or is it just the competition against Dhiraagu. Dhiraagu has also introduced a new package but in limited terms as bandwidth is only 3 GB. Yeh we all know ROL doesn’t have bandwidth issues but yes the difference arises in speed and the services given by both of these companies. So my question is this the time? Well NO. Furthermore the quotes on the ads also indirectly tell us that they haven’t been giving good service to the users.
They have already fooled us the customers previously. After the submarine cable came we all thought the speed would make a difference. But no, a week after they have installed the upgrades the speed was like heaven for a normal customer like me. I’ve received around 60-80 kbps. And again they had failed to protect their promise and after few weeks the speed went down to 30 kbps. So this means finally the SUBMARINE CABLE drama is still on show.
Ok so what’s next? What’s with this new package mega pipe? Is it an upgrade for the 650/- package users or is it a new package where the price is double. I’ve also given a ring to them today to get more info but unfortunately was unable to get any info on the new package. So my question remains are they attempting to fool us again.
Oh yeh the ad is edited below

I work for ROL team and would like to clarify some points in reference to your comments.
About your first comment: It is not that ROL feels its customers are unsatisfied. ROL believes general Internet customer is not happy with the speeds available in the market for internet in Maldives in general. This is particularly in view of the new applications the Internet has to offer today for the avarage user. Therefore it is coming up with a range of new products that will address the needs of the customer in terms of speed and and price.
Your second comment: As you rightly said ROL does not have bandwidth issues. Therefore ROL believes it is the right time to offer customers good value for money highspeed connections. The Ad referes to a Market condition that ROL will bring the answer to. It’s gonna make customers be able to use Internet the way it’s meant to be - Internet service must be unlimited, it must be highspeed and It must have a fixed monthly fee. ROL will offer a real high speed unlimited usage package at an amazingly affordable price.
ROL believes customers must have the freedom to use Internet as much as they want without intimidation, without the fear of what the bill is gonna be at the end of the month. Therefore ROL from day one offered unlimited internet access to the Maldivian user. This revolutionised internet usage in Maldives.
It did not fool the market. It sincerely and trurely offered this service to the market. The customers benefited immensely. ROL is a trend setter and I am very confident they will continue to set the trend and be a catalyst to drive Internet development and usage in Maldives.
Your third Comment: ROL has never fooled the customer at any time. It had always offered to the market what it promissed. Your coment also confirms that the 256kbps (Rf 645/-) package gives you the promissed speeds. As you will know if you get a 30KB (Kilo Bytes) transfer rate for a download you are geting 256Kbps. 30KB (Kilo Bytes) * 8Bits = 240Kbps (Kilo bits per second). This ROL product/packages is designed to provide up to 256kbps. Therefore if the customer is geting 256Kbps ROL has obviously delivered on its promiss and certainly have not fooled the customer.
Your Fourth Coment: The new Mega Pipe package price and other details is not in the public domain. What is in the public domain is that there is a good package customers can expect. Therefore I am not surprised you did not get additional information on the new package. The new package is also gonna give the customer a good deal and will be designed to deliver on it’s promisses just as your comments confirms in the case of other products.

well im in 4kland .. here the ROL agent cant get around 20kbps for their main office also
. .so guyz think what will be our speed .. yeh this really sucks and sometimes its gettin disconnected for a day or more. and also This ROL has Blocked or did something with our http://maldivehosting.net Server .. right now around 150 sites are hosted on that site. we have informed about this Several times to them. but what to do still they cant fix it. They told me that its Available to their main server in male’ but the users in male’ couldn’t access to any of sites which is hosted on Maldivehosting.net so i think thats their Problem.. Maldivehosting.net Doesnt have any problem in their server. im also a ROL user but i can access to that site.. so i can say the problem is with them ..
ROL SUCKS RIGHT NOW
we need Better Service from them .. or better Stop the service

And i wonder why you didnt comment about what i said, i pay 995RF, and its been over a month since ive been getting speeds never above 23kbs, and with a speciality of regular disconections, ive been told by a source inside ROL that its a prob with jsat cable. I would like to know wats really wrong. Calling 3320880 helps me waste my phones credit on getting no help at all. No thanks for that. I dont like getting peak hours 24/7, so it would be of great help if you would contact me. Thank you. I hope u will contact me.

Is ROL Value Pack (Student package) really Child Safe?
I wonder why the Authorities are not worried about the Marketing strategies used bye Companies like ROL.
Eevery parent is very happpy to give their child a “Child Safe IE” package at a damn cheap price, just MRF 299 a month.
Recently I bought this “Child Safe” package for one of my cousin aged 9 years….. and what I discover after one week is that so many nude sites apppeared on the screen (Popups)
So I would like to call all the concerning parties to take the right action to stop this kind of marketing campaigns.

I m no user of any of the service provider. By seeing all these comments i m very sure that this blog is controlling some dhiraagu staffs or marketers. As ROL guy said … interned must be unlimited and high speed. The most fake service so far is given by dhiraagu. Mostly the high price of internet from leybo dhiraagu. Only because of companies like ROL u guys getting these cheap rates even from dhiraagu. So dont try to demoralize or throw out of the market by these type of blogs… ROL is ur future. and any other company who can compete in this Monopoly market of communication is Maldives.
